Arctic Monkeys - Diamonds are Forever

Não será exactamente uma novidade, visto esta cover ter sido tocada no Festival de Glastonbury de 2007, mas a versão dos Arctic Monkeys é excelente pelo que não poderia passar ao lado do CK.

Os Arctic Monkeys dedicaram esta música a Shirley Bassey, a interprete original desse tema para o filme do mais celebre agento secreto ao serviço de sua Majestade. Shirley Bassey estaria presente nesse mesmo festival 2 dias depois.

Yael Naim

Durante as minhas deabolações no last.fm encontrei a artista Yael Naim que segundo a descrição no Aurgasm:

"When Paris-born, Israeli-raised Yael Naim met David Donatien, a West Indian drummer, the two sat down to share their rich musical experiences. Combining Yael’s classical education and love of pop and jazz, this collaboration lead into recording 13 beautifully arranged compositions, mostly sung in Hebrew, with instrumentation of piano, guitar, cello, bass and percussion. While the mood ranges from melancholic to sweeter and hopeful notes, she carries intimate feeling throughout her songs."

Blood Red Shoes - It's Getting Boring By The Sea

De Brighton, UK, chega-nos mais uma banda promissora. Um duo, um rapaz e uma rapariga. Ele na bateria, ela na guitarra. Intitulam-se Blood Red Shoes e em Abril do ano que se aproxima, chegará ao público o seu albúm de estreia "Box of Secrets".

Porque me chamaram a atenção?
Pelo ritmo imposto e as vozes complementares, demonstrado por dois singles fortes, "It's Getting Boring By The Sea" que vos apresento neste post e "I Wish I was Someone Better" que podem ouvir no myspace da banda. Por isso e pela minha panca por morenas de olhos claros...

Slimmy - Bloodshot Star

Mais um ilustre desconhecido que imigrando obteve o reconhecimento merecido. Depois deste Bloodshot Star ter iniciado um dos episodios do CSI Miami eis que Slimmy é "descoberto" a nível nacional.



O músico descreve o seu album de estreia como sendo um "dos melhores discos, a nível de canções, que já ouvi, feito por um português". Quase que concordo com ele...

Klaxons - "It's Not Over Yet"

Para mim não há volta a dar, com "Myths of the Near Future" os Klaxons criaram um dos meus álbuns favoritos deste ano. E este é o seu mais recente single.

Bloc Party - Hunting for Witches

A banda de Kele Okereke está de volta com o terceiro single de A Weekend in the City. Hunting for Witches é a meu ver a melhor música do 2º album dos Bloc Party especialmente pela batida que Matt Tong impõe.

Os dois 7'' lá terão de vir fazer companhia aos quatro que frequentemente passam pelo giradiscos... :P

Apocalyptica Special

Os apocalyptica são um grupo de violoncelistas famosos por interpretar temas dos metálica! E eu gosto da música deles! Que não é baseada nos metálica. Por isso decidi partilhar com vocês dois clips. Ambos com vocalista!
